To strengthen the confidence of students of vocational agriculture in themselves and their work. 4.) To create more interest in the intelligent choice of agricultural occupations. 5.) To encourage members in the development of individual occupational experience programs in agriculture and establishment in agricultural careers. 6.) Future Teachers of America

Cost: $5.00 FTA assists high school students in exploring teaching as a career choice, provide a realistic understanding of teaching, and encourage students from diverse backgrounds to think seriously about the teaching profession. If you are interested in being a teacher or you just enjoy helping others while having a good time, you should consider joining the FTA. Joining this club costs $5.00 and can be paid at the first meeting. You may pay Mrs. Kelly Wiggs or Mrs. Crystal Whitfield. ** IMPORTANT: You must participate in both service projects in order to participate in Teacher Shadowing Day . |
Genders & Sexualities Alliance (GSA)

Cost: $5.00 Purpose: The club’s mission is to provide an open and accepting environment for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) students to engage with each other in order to form a support structure for their often challenging life experiences and to foster a sense of acceptance and tolerance for their non-heteronormative identities. Not only will LGBTQ students be welcome, but cisgender and heterosexual students who identity as allies sympathetic to the needs of the LGBTQ community both on-campus and at-large will be encouraged to participate. |

SASI (Student Athlete Summer Institute)

Cost: None SASI participants will learn about the following: Detrimental effects of alcohol and other drugs Appropriate peer interactions in a variety of settings Peer empowerment Methods of empowerment with anticipated outcomes Positive role model influence Group discussions of how to be a positive role model with young children and peers Effective leadership skills Instruction in leadership skills with activities for applying skills Goal setting and planning Opportunity to design an action plan to take a stand against risk behaviors at home, school, and in the community NOTE: Athletes are selected by their coaches and teachers and participate in a summer residential program followed by a variety of leadership activities held during the school year. Students selected should have leadership potential and an average or above academic record. |
